He was on loan at Shrewsbury last year. The only record of him playing in the league this season was a substitute appearance at Man United, which I guess makes him a 'Premiership striker' in the NP.

Hi did - he said "I had a speech well-rehearsed in which I was going to say I wanted to set Nottingham alight, but...."

Noor Husin signed on a year and half deal. Midfielder who can pass apparently. Seems we have all bases covered now if Grant goes. And if he doesn’t...serious competition for the places.
Need to sort out up front though. I can understand the extra midfielder with what happened to them with Yates. They’ll be expecting Grant to go and need to have options.

Damn, if only we had a decent manager who could push on and get us into the promotion places.

    7?
Walker, Hewitt, O Connor, Noble, Husin, Virtue, Milsom.

Several thoughts occur to me about these last two signings:

Does Nolan expect the imminent loss of Grant?
Has Nolan given up on Milsom and Walker?
Is O'Connor's recovery taking much longer than expected?
And - why no striker yet?

AH has said more news this afternoon - this could be the new striker we all eagerly anticipate, but if it's another midfielder I'll be baffled.

I think Milsom's injury might leave him out for a while, Nolan did say that he was going to have to see a specialist, I think he might be out for a while. O'Connor's injury was always going to have him out for ages, a lot of people said he wouldn't be around until towards the end of this season.

And why does every central midfielder we sign get labelled as Grant's possible replacement when Grant has played out on the wing all season?

If anything I'd say these signings might mean Nolan is looking to use Hewitt in central defence

Think probably for those exact reasons, when you have a midfielder that has scored 16 goals he's going to attract attention and I think most of us thought it would be Grant not Yates to leave. Obviously Nolan either doesn't rate Milson or has a problem with his attitude (I think he will leave this month) and I think he probably sees Walker as a squad player now after failing to massively impress. As for O'Connor I think anyone would be surprised if he could get into decent form by the end of the season and it's not something you want to risk when you have all to play for.
