Born in Afghanistan, I'm struggling to remember any other Asian player at Notts but they are chronically underrepresented in the English game. Let's hope he does well.

Zesh Rahman or Rehman I think had the "accolade" of being the only asian player in the Football League a while back, not sure how different it is now but I can't imagine there's many more, if any at all from Afghanistan

Stating the obvious slightly but being born in Afghanistan in the late 90s is about as far removed from the stereotype of mollycoddled academy player as you can get.

Not sure how old he was when he came to the UK but I bet he's seen a lot in his 20 years.

Two very good signings and look promising on recent form.
Everyone has to understand we are not derby/florist/Wolverhampton/Arsenal/Spurs etc
We are Notts county and have to budget accordingly.
We don't have masses of money
We have to rely on loan signings and signings that don't require fees.
That doesn't mean we cannot find gems out there
We just have to be sensible and careful.
However I'm very pleased with what we have signed so far and see them adding flair to the squad and ability on the ball.
A centre forward would be sooooo good
But our kev must have something up his sleeve or happy with what he has...."for now"

Indeed. And can I be the first to offer him a warm welcome Herat the Lane.
