As far as I know, the film gives a pretty faithful story about what happened.

The New York Times was shown to be the first paper to run with the story - and afterwards it was the Washington Post that took over the running.
Yes, the film centred on the Post but I think (from my understanding) that it was an accurate account.

PLEASE don't try to defend the News of the World. They admitted that they had hacked into Milly Dowlers mobile. There is doubt about how her messages were deleted - we will probably never know for sure.
But the way that paper operated on this, and many other occasions, was unforgivable.

Try Last Flag Flying. This also has a twist on the Vietnam War but good film about a Vietnam veteran losing his son in Iraq.
Another great film from a few years ago which I recently watched is Impossible about the 2004 Tsunami.

We are going to The Dukes in Lancaster tonight - they are showing a mystery film - we have no idea what it is going to be.

We notice that it is Burns night so there may be a Scottish connection.

The 39 Steps will suit me fine, but if it is Trainspotting then I'm out of there.

Yes they admitted it, of course the protagonists Brooke’s and Coulson learned their skills on Mirror Group papers under Piers Morgan years before Millie’s case. Morgan bragged about listening to others phones (Princess Diana being one) and joked about it, but some how at Levinson denied anything and everything. He was branded an unreliable witness by Levinson and the paper denied for years that they ever used hacking for their stories.

In 2017 they suddenly admitted the practice and settled numerous cases.(over 40)

Now how come they are still operating and Morgan has avoided prosecution and can somehow set himself up as a paragon of virtue. An odious man and a group no better than NOTW was.

Totally agree with all that OC.

And that's why I understand the aims of Hacked Off, who are the victims.

Yes, most of them are rich and famous, but everyone should be treated the same in the law and be afforded the same level of protection.
