Well matchday has come round again and we're all ready to play without the most influentual player that has played for The Millers during our time at NYS. In fact he is the last surviving member of the team that gave the club promotion into the Championship thus giving Rotherham United a regular home attendance of over 7000 Millers week in week out.
It will be interesting to see if we slip back to the mondain, effortless, tiresome, boring and frustrating period we had before the run started that has given Paul Warne his Manager of the month award. This time coincided with the inclusion of Frecklington and the upturn in our form.
I'm happy to have been able to watch this Rotherham United legend play and he will be spoke of and measured against for years to come. He has left a great hole at Rotherham United that will take a long time to fill.
The long road that this club has come down with Tony Steward has started a new chapter. From him takeing over from ordinary guys just trying their best to keep the club a float to sticking two fingures up to the Boothes. He took us out of Millmoor to the Don Valley stadium and then into the NYS which has given him legend status as well.
He gave Evans tha licence to get promotion after managers before him had failed and gave him the means to do it. He built a team, a spirit and an vibe arround the place that got people interested in becoming supporters again.
He has taken the decision to finish that era by removing from the squad the last man standing! Frecklington was the last man standing between this new team and the dreams that have been what they acheived. That era is sadly over!
Here is the team that starts the new era! Good luck lads you have a mammoth task ahead of you!!
