Thread: We Are Albion

    We Are Albion

    WEST BROM 2 ALBION 0.

Albion again unable to defend corners.

These were the headlines from my local Brighton Argos, Wierd reading a match report where they are Albion and we are West Brom or WBA.

Paper in no doubt we deserved the win and commented on how 'boisterous' the atmosphere was.

Unless you live in Brighton, or Stirling, or Burton, or where ever Albion Rovers are based.

We were the ORIGINAL Albion (named after the District in West Brom.) All others followed.

Living in Sus*** I often hear locals refer to Brighton as Albion and it really grates on me. If it's someone I know I do of course educate them as to whom was the original and best. On national radio commentary yesterday we were often Albion, never once was that used for Brighton.

Did you know a gentleman called Jackson was one of the founders of Brighton and he was a Baggie and this is why they are called Albion and play in blue and white stripes.

I have convinced my mates seagull supporting grandson that when the Albion have won their nice navy blue striped shirts a few times and the colours have started to fade then we pass them down to Brighton to play in.
