Barnsley fans may not know that we had forwards Jamie Proctor and David Ball out injured early in the season, which meant we were forced by circumstances into playing 4-5-1 with Moore up front .... but it worked!

It's a bizarre way of doing things but not uncommon these days apparently .
didnt you have the recruitment team when the last manager was there? (will not use his name )

o no, wait a minute, didnt you advise us to go down the recruitment route 18 month ago?? thanks m8

Yes I did and you still should but they are some factors at our club that perhaps have contributed to our present league position .

First of all the recruitment team were tasked with building practically a new squad of 14 players in one transfer window .

None had kicked a ball at this level .

The club will not recruit players over 25 years old .

The Championship isn't as forgiving as League One .

It's the club's lack of foresight regarding contracts that have contributed massively to our demise and led us to have to push our luck further than what can be realistically expected .

Pinnock and Lindsay the two centre backs could well be the best we've discovered yet , both are outstanding young defenders .

Cavare is also a quality right back .

    Isgrove is championship quality .

Others will get there in time , possibly next season .

Two or three won't , but that's to be expected as no plan is 100% fail proof .

We've given ourselves too much to do and that's more the flaw rather than the system .

Although I would like to see Hecky having more control and the age limit lifted .

The system works better with a partial rebuild , 3 or 4 in per window and a league lower it's more forgiving .

I believe our ex coach now at Bristol City worked with the current system .
