Yep the apology should take place in private - no problem with him supporting the player, just that doing it so vociferously, he now needs to pay him back with loyalty, and twice as hard work if he gets a chance back in the team.

Personally Viera plus an experienced new signing in centre mid would be my preference. But i wouldn't think that's going to happen - probably Phillips Viera for the next few games.

No argument regarding supporting the player, but what was said basically implied that there was no cause for teh red, and thats just not so, anyone can see that. If Christiansen wants to support Okane he should do so without implying that he didn't do anything wrong, otherwise he (and the club) just look foolish.

If Sacko, Lassoga and Grot were to get sent off now too, we'd be landed.

erm, you are aware this footage only came out after the match and TC's interview and just appeared on social media, not any official sources? It's obviously just someone filming on their phone camera. The usual pants LUFC footage doesn't show anything as it's too far away and not zoomed. We all know people who say 'yep, this thing definitely happened!' cos memory can be fuzzy, only to see footage later that proves completely the opposite.

If TC thought nothing happened and then he's listened to O'Kane who lied and said he did nothing (and possibly someone with an incorrect recollection), then I think he's bang within his rights to stick up for the player, but agree with others that EO needs to come out and say something if that's the case cos it looks like he's mugged off his manager.

Yes I was aware, but even the naked eye could could see from the half-way line that there was motion from Okane with his head towards the defender. Even if there was no contact, it was a foolish thing to do, and something Christiansen should have deferred commenting upon until he watched whatever footage became available, rather than saying nothing happened (which was patently not true). There are ways and means of addressing questions about events such as happened at the weekend, extending to something just short of telling the interviewer to "f00k off". To suggest nothing happened was as foolish as the player who committed the act.

Either way, the decision not to appeal tells its own story, and as you say, Okane should man-up and make an apology to all concerned, including the Ipswich player.

No Tich, just telling like it is, rather than how we might like it to be

As I said - "God like" in that you always get everything spot on ... unlike other mortals on this site.

.....Just not so good at predicting scores.
