    Cyril Regis has passed on

Only 59 years of age. One of the best of his generation. Big strong physical player, the type of forward we could do with now.

    RIP Sir

    Saddened to hear this

    RIP.
As well as being a top class player in his day, wasn't he more recently involved in trying to get the Arthur Wharton statue built outside NYS?

He was a great player to watch in the 70s/80s but by all accounts an even greater man who was at the forefront of breaking down racial barriers/abuse.

    Gone far too soon. RIP.

Sad news . I was at the match where he made his WBA first team debut - against the Millers in League cup game at the Hawthorns.
WBA won 4-0, with Regis scoring twice. He looked a good player even then, and a big strong lad. A good professional off the pitch and a campaigner against racism too. Held in high esteem by many of his fellow players, black and white.

    RIP
