Jack Rodwell - worth a shout?

Looks like he is being allowed to leave Sunderland - yes his career has dipped a bit over past couple of years, but could he fit into our midfield? - good athlete, has some height we are so badly lacking, and some real championship experience.
Cant be any worse than some of the current names doing the rounds , but no doubt if we do sign that much needed CM, he will be a 5 foot 5, 17 year old, who needs 7-8 matches to get fit etc.

If we don't sign him, you can be sure one of our rivals will.

Don't forget, if we do sign that 17yr old, he will be loaned out to Cultural Leonora to "gain experience"

Sunderland may have ripped up his contract, but he won't want to come to Leeds on the salary we would offer him (not in comparison to £70k/week anyway). Shame, he could do something for us, and as you say, he has experience in the English leagues, something most of our newcomers are lacking in.

He plays on average about one game a season, spends the rest with the physio, waste of wages

Think he would be a good signing.

Him and Lassogga could hit the donut stores and pubs together. Not good for a player not to have a pal on the squad.

He will have to take a pay-cut if he wants his career to continue. Nobody will pay anything close to his current wages. And I don't think he is worth it, as it has been mentioned previously, he is injured more often than not, sadly.

He took the therapy table, and made it his own.

An experienced player (of teams who do poorly/get relegated) who held the record for individual longest number of consecutive starts in PL history without a win.

Someone who is persistently injured and when not injured is contributing to a dreadful team.

No thanks, Jack Rodwell is a perfect example of why a player with 'experience' is not always the best solution.
