    o/t "tapping up"

Relevant I guess given we are in a transfer window. Is this practice 'illegal', or just 'not the done thing' within football? I have often wondered what constitutes the practice of "tapping up", and whether this is just with the agent or whether it involves direct contact with a player?

    Thoughts?

Football is a bent game on many levels, simple as that.

It’s illegal but it’s been reported that it still happens

    Happens everywhere.
I get people’s CV sent to me all the time.
Also I’ve come across people who have done a good job and I’ve discussed with them joining me.

    Just how it is.

I can't see how it's any different to being head hunted. That's a perfectly acceptable practice in the commercial world.
