These sort of threads always end up the same way with s h I t loads of infighting and people at each other's throats.

There's been harmonyon here for a while now and some very interesting threads so it's a bit of a shame that this has appeared.

I won't bother fuelling this with any political point.

I'll respond soulman with an alternative view.

Thatcher legacy: Nissan, Toyota, Honda all of whom invested in the UK because Thatcher was strong enough to sort out the unions and give these and many others sufficient confidence in the UK at a time when we were an international joke as socialist France is now.
AS regards CEO's I personally only know one who the vast majority of his employees woulld agree has done a goodjob for the Company and them. He is also a great bloke so please don't tar them all with the same brush.

Politics and this board don't go well together, mickd is right there.

But for my two cents, Thatcher was a wicked and despicable prime minister. The Falklands War gave her more years in power than she deserved and many of our national industries haven't and will never recover from her administration. I'm not in the least bit a ***ist person, so it pains me to say that our two serving female prime ministers have been woeful and incompetent.

I think that Neil Kinnock being Labour Leader at the time didn't do her any harm either. As for your comment about "our two female Prime Ministers being woeful and incompetent", well I can think of a few Male Prime Ministers who were just as bad.

Never liked Thatcher as a person, but incompetent, no! Also, Blair privatised nearly as many industries as she did. That's the problem with Labour, we've gone from a right winger in Blair to a Marxist in Corbyn. Can't stand either of them!

Not a fan of any politician, never have been but if given the choice I would prefer someone like Maggie Thatcher who would mainly steer a straight course and stick to her guns...as opposed to someone like John Major who didn't know whether his arse was punched or bored switching this way and that, it was easy to work round Maggie's style and I have to say I made good money during her reign.
