Yep, they both deserved their sending off's.

.. That's the difference between the fans and the players perspectives mate. We come in from two completely different angles .. Enjoyed that game, and on balance I think the ref done nothing wrong. Don't watch as much football as I used to because of the diving ..

Shearer's right, though-if you dive to try and win a penalty it should be a red. Anywhere else on the pitch-yellow but if the penalty had been given then he would have received a ban from the panel. The intent is exactly the same so I don't think whether the dive is successful or not should matter.
