    When I think about the guts and determination that it must have taken for Ian to make that climb I am filled with respect for this Sheffield lad.

    Living abroad these days I must admit i'd never never heard of this guy until reading this thread made me curious. It was only after reading the link in the star that I understood what he did.
    What a brave man he was, rest in peace fella you fulfilled your dream and certainly proved that anything is possible if you really try.

    I've just heard on Radio Sheffield it's the anniversary of IAN puttin that BLADES flag at the top of Everest,well worth rememberin in my view.Ian's mates have scattered his ashes at the top of BEN NEVIS this weekend. RIP IAN a top top bloke.UTCB
