I don’t think they are the basket case they were when DM turned them down.

Think they have new owners and the boy Ellis Short wrote off the debt so Ross may have a clean slate to work off.

They will be the biggest club in league one next year so if finance is there he could do well.

He seems sensible enough so I’m sure he’ll do his due diligence. One thing for sure, if he does go and does do well then we’ll nae be seeing him at pittodrie any time soon.....

    David Hopkin anyone 😉

I agree with the St Mirren bit.
Assuming they struggle next season, his stock will fall.
It’s all about timing I suppose.
Maybe Sunderland have bottomed out and now IS the time to take over.

He is favourite for the Sunderland job with Skybet and is favourite for the Ipswich job with Betvictor.

At a press conference today new Sunderland owner says that he paid £40M, the club is now debt free, they will have a budget that is "pretty hefty" by League 1 standards and they expect to appoint a new manager within 7 days. (I bet McInnes wishes he was being asked about the Sunderland job this Summer!!)

Local Ipswich papers still saying that Ross is one of the hot favourites and they expect to make an appointment by end of May or beginning of June.

If you were Jack Ross and end up being offered both jobs, which would you take? The stability of the mid table Championship club, which doesn't really sack managers or the yoyo much bigger club with the potential to go all the way to the Premiership, but greater chance of being sacked due to the much higher demands from fans

Well I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest it may well hinge on who's paying the most mullah?! It's all about the money doon there and since there's a fair chance you'll be punted within a season you'd need to be a daftie to go with the club paying the least of the two.

Sooonderland all day long. Debt written off, club nearly at rock bottom, higher profile, fans desperate for a modicum of success. Completely different prospect to the team McInnes turned down last year.

St.Mirren are offering a new deal for him so Sunderland or Ipswich may find it more difficult to entice him (probably not).
Sunderland definitely now are a lot more appealing for any future manager since the debt got wiped off.
Fair play to the chairman as he realised that the club (including himself) made a mess of it and he has tried to help with the clubs immediate future as they were on a free fall.

Looks like he’s agreed terms with Sunderland. A good place to continue his AFC apprenticeship

New owners, debt dealt with and they’ve bagged that Hun ball bag crook Martin Bain - which seems to have been celebrated like the second coming of the lord going by the twitter response by Sunderland fans 😂.

Perfect time for him to go there to be honest. No contest with the tractor boys of Ipswich - Sunderland a miles bigger club.

Also the perfect warm up for the big gig up here as you say Mason 😉
