Times have changed and things like this can make a difference. However, if the basics aren't right a formation change won't make any difference.
What was our 'formation' in 1983?
Correct, we didn't have one.
'Formations' are a product of guff football on phukn Sky.

Doesn't matter what formation is played. They don't tackle, don't make runs, can't string two passes together, slump over and play in slow motion.
Paul Quinn says Saturday must be a wake up call. Was the 6-1 not enough? Minter of a "team"
Seen that today and though the very same thing. Getting beat by St Mirren should have been the wake up moment IMHO. This may take CL a few weeks to resolve by which time, who knows.
It's not happening - the players don't have the passion, the fight, the motivation, the determination or drive to get out of this mess.
If having over 1000 fans at all the away games can't motivate the players something is wrong.
It's now mission impossible - absolutely no chance of winning the league ( the players have made sure of that ).
We will lose in the 2nd round of the play offs and be back at square one next season.
I put the blame on both the players and the manager - at this level, players should be able to adapt to formations and the manager should know when to change tactics and formations if things are not going to plan.
It's their job, it what they get paid for doing.
No more excuses. Please.
I find it hard to be too critical of the manager. He's just in the door and was doing great until the rug was pulled from under his feet with the injuries. Ultimately, he's still learning about the squad.
Just put 5 players up front and hoof it? Why not?
My tactics used to be simple. Get the ball into their box as often as possible. Got us mid-table Midland Ams Div 2
