Thread: Benik Afobe

To score goals at any level you need players around you with the vision and skill to provide you with the ammunition Afobi, at Wolves has those players, at Bournmouth he didn't. Simples.

Also worth noting that this season Benik only had 5 starts for Bournemouth compared to Rondon having 32, he's constantly been used as an impact player a role he doesn't like.

He left because the clubs ambition didn't match his at the time, we sold Sako and Morgan didn't reinvest the money... Players have short careers I don't blame him wanting to play at the highest level he can?

Now, however, he wants to be at Wolves and has a good rapport with the fans... I wonder how many Albion players want to be there now?

I think he will have to get used to it because I honestly don't see him as a premiership starter, just dosen't have it for me.

You may well be right on that, he didnít start every game when he moved here and wasnít consistent when he did play... he is however a natural goal scorer, with the right sort of service he could be a real asset next season.

Even if he doesn't command a starting eleven place, Afobe can offer Wolves a different option.

While we need at least one more centre forward without question, I just think pre season with Nuno and the squad Afobe can only get better.

That's how I see it Norton. He needs more time to get used to our style of play and, with a full pre-season on top of the time he has already had with us, I imagine Nuno thinks he will fit - otherwise there was no point in going ahead with the purchase!

Lets hope so, i have every faith in Nuno, the coaching staff and the scouting network we have in place. Afobe will hopefully had a few goals to the side.

There's been a few rumours doing the rounds linking Afobe with a move to Stoke City, strange if this becomes reality.

I don't know of any other team who buys a player then a week later sells him on what's that all about

We haven't sold him to Stoke so what are you talking about?

I expect Wolves to bring in a few players who can play that role. I do think £12m is a good price allegedly offered by Stoke. Benik has proved he can score goals in the championship.

Afobe has signed for Stoke on a six month loan deal, Stoke are then obliged to sign him for an undisclosed fee in January.
