I had a bit of a chuckle when seeing the article re the support groups reaction to Jose's comment over the home vocal support at OT.
I've only ever visited there (where we were robbed over Tims disallowed goal) once, an was fairly surprised how poor their vocal support was. And this against their then more serious rivals. I sort of put it down to possible arrogance on their part where we were seen as just an irritational mill town annoyance where we even dared step on their pitch!
Given there are circa 70k on, most of the intimidation I experienced was before and mainly after from their lovely fans where I was a little fearful for my two young kids in tow. When they are abusing/threatening the elderly incl women, that was enough to determine never again. That's not a 'sporting venue' I have any time for.

Edit: maybe should have explained this is in ref to the lack of full vocal support, not the 'behaviour' of their following.

I was at a Man. Utd. game at Portman Road once. I went on my bike. I was walking away afterwards, talking to a really old Ipswich supporter who was wearing a scarf. A group of about 20 United fans (NOT ****agers, either) attacked him. I tried to protect him with my bike. It was going to be very bad, but a policeman with a dog appeared - as if by magic - and saved the day.
These guys had mad eyes and were completely beyond reason.
I suppose gang-behaviour can affect all clubs, but they always seemed particularly bad. I witnesses similar scenes with Utd. fans at Newcastle too.
