Heckingbottom recently signing a new contract deal two days ago will show his commitment to keeping Barnsley up this season.

So the latest developments are that Leeds are going all in to appoint Heckingbottom as their new number one target and by the end of today, they are looking at trying to persuade Barnsley to release him out of his recently signed contract and make him Leeds manager.

This will be a tough negotiation for Barnsley with Leeds who are looking to try and keep hold of their manager to stay in the relegation fight, though the temptations of managing a team looking to chase for a play-off place and get promoted might be too good to turn down for Heckingbottom, having just settled on terms recently on signing a new contract this could tempt Barnsley to renegotiate a better deal with Heckinbottom to keep him at the club and help strive the club out of relegation trouble.

Looks like we are in for a hectic interesting few hours ahead as more developments come forward in a search for a new Leeds manager.

Gary Rowett had a £1.5m release clause in his contract when Stoke came swooping in before Derby made a new contract offer that got rid of the release clause in his contract and upped his wages to prevent Stoke from taking him during a crucial time during our promotion chasing campaign and seeing as Heckinbottom has got a release clause in his contract he signed two days ago, this could tempt Barnsley to do the same as us to prevent Leeds from taking him off their hands during a crucial part of their season in trying to stay in this division.

    Let the negotiations commence....

Barnsley lad, Rog...one of their own and all that. They won’t be ‘right pleased’ if he goes toddlin’ up t’road.
    With apologies to Acido.

Why are WE in for a very hectic few hours, what Leeds do or who they appoint has nothing whatsoever to do with Derby?

The only person I can think of that it might get hectic for is you, scouring the internet for any snippet you can copy and paste onto this forum, you've already contradicted yourself above, will he or won't he, one or the other ddd

If Heckingbottom leaves, Steve McClaren could be hanging just around the corner.
