I agree Prando, an interesting read and in my opinion, a pretty good assessment of the situation.

Clad to see folk outside the club can see the problem we had.
    Quote from the piece:

In fact, the sacking of Tony Pulis was understandable and eventually inevitable. West Brom had fallen into a semi-comatose state under the Welshman. The suspicion was that a club with greater ambitions and greater capability in the transfer market had simply outgrown its manager, but the long goodbye was still wretched. Pulis could no longer be depended upon to get the best out of what he had.

“Everybody knows the Tony Pulis style of football and now we have technically gifted players who want to get the ball down and show what they can do,” said Ben Foster after Pulis’s departure. “It’s not necessarily what Tony wanted, to be honest.”

That's all very well Chris, but he's been replaced by a guy who was unemployed and not wanted, and in fact Pardew has gained less points in his 12 matches and not spent in the transfer window. All very well to blame Pulis who left almost 3 months ago, but perhaps someone should now be pointing the finger at Pardew or the Board or both.

Points are what we need at the moment at any cost to stay in the division!!!

Stats can be so misleading and the only ones that will really matter are the points tally at the end of the season. There are just so many variables in the data that make these types of comparisons quite worthless. They are interesting to read as we attempt to make sense of it all but that’s about it.
Variable such as playing teams home or away, never the exact same team line up or formation, form of their and our teams and individuals players, morale or team and or individual players, influential players availability, weather conditions, time between last match, the officials, unfair decisions, injured players, change of coach, etc etc. Not to mention spells, gremlins , voodoo and stoke
So will it be fair to compare our recent thrashing at Man City to when Huddersfield go there at the end of the season when city have potentially having won three cups and decide to rest key players for the champions league final.
Personally I tend to ask my cat what he thinks about it all.
Having said that those bookies have some pretty decent analysists staring at high tech computers most of the day and they make a good first of it.
Sadly the omens don’t look good

Thats a good post liquidator so many factors can influence a season as you say even how the fixtures roll out for you even being on tv can make all the difference ie Chelsea tomorrow night the world we be watching them , no ones going to tune in just to see us if they do it will be to see if we're losing , the build to the game will all be Chelsea about 10 mins of us ,

The truth is we could win the prem for the next five years running and we would still get 10 mins on match of the day. Nothing pigeon holes teams like the prem does.

With Huddersfield winning & Newcastle just beating Man Utd if Southampton now playing Liverpool dont lose , we won't be on match of the day next season .

And now need 3 wins to have any chance of getting out the bottom three and that still might not be enough with other clubs results. Surely we are doomed?
