Surf. I can stand up on a large board, but I'd love to be able to surf on the smaller boards.

When I first moved to Swansea I thought I might as well take advantage of the nice beaches. I took up sea fishing and Surfing. I had about 4 surfing lessons that I think is essential if you want to get really good. I know what you mean with the big boards. I brought a 9 foot board and could stand up but I doubt I could use a small board. I got board and gave up. (See what I did there).
I've also got the opinion humans shouldn't be in the sea past your ankles. You don't get many sharks in the UK and I don't know of any shark attacks.
Where you live I wouldn't even paddle. Sharks crocks, huge spiders to name a few.

Crocs are found a good 10hrs north of me Bingo, as far as sharks go, if you don't swim at dusk or dawn, attacks are very rare, all are mainly isolated at known shark feeding beaches, spiders not an issue, and snakes you just need to be smart
