Problem is we will never be ready if we stay in league 1. The money in championship makes a difference to the clubs like ours yes we may go back down and back up again a few times or hang around the bottom of championship for a few seasons, but without that money clubs that drop down into L1 will have huge advantages over us with money and players.

If you think of it like a classic car you can ether build it over a long period of time bit by bit or get some rich billionaire to buy you one for Christmas.
