    George Rowe

Interesting to read in the programme that our former captain George Rowe now a successful businessman has been the main shirt sponsor for Arbroath for the past few years.

I remember that goal and the song. There were fans singing the wheelbarrow song at one of the FA Cup matches last weekend. Rowe went on to play for the Red Lichties.

The Rowe and Eadie managerial partnership was a disaster. Stranded at the bottom of the table and saved from certain relegation when Hamilton Accies were docked points for the players going on strike and not fulfilling a fixture, which put them bottom. As said, Rowe (and JT) went to Arbroath and I remember him getting pelters from the Queens support about "stealing" a bonus from the Club for keeping us up when Hamilton went down. He maybe won't be remembered too fondly by some fans.

I had completely forgot about that Auld_Chippy , well done. He did indeed take some stick from a section of the support

I thought he was well liked by the fans up until that point. I'm sure I was at the handball match. I couldn't recall who was in charge the season Queens escaped relegation.

I think he was well liked as a player for QoS, I certainly thought he was more than decent, but his Managerial spell and then leaving for the Smokies the way he did probably lost him a few fans. I'm sure he did a bit of match reporting for the "Current Bun" when he hung up his boots and often covered Queens' games. I don't think he does it now.

Have to say I liked big George as a player. As hard as nails and wasn’t scared to put the head in where it hurt
