I know players insure themselves for career threatening injuries, surely Clubs must have an adequate insurance designed for loss of players through injury ?

Don’t know Alto, I would imagine they will have long term injury protection say for 6, 9 or 12 month or career ending ones, but premiums for shorter term injuries might be very high so it will be up to players and clubs to balance the benefits and risks. If both take out insurance for the same thing there could be complications over any claim.
