    Valentines Day

I'm doing the flowers and a meal out. Oh, and a couple of maps.

I know only too well how romantic you lot are on here, so what are you planning?

Nothing, its all a con just like Halloween is.

When I first met Matron I told her I didn't believe in it, and what did she prefer, being spoilt once a year with flowers, chocs and a meal, or having the same at least once a month, she prefers the latter

I've just taken £200 out of one of my betting accounts and pinned the notes inside her Valentine's Card. She's always moaning about the amount of time I spend on the gee-gees, so I'll see if this makes her more appreciative of my lucrative hobby.

Not very romantic I know, but I'm learning from the Premier League.....money talks.

Just don't trump while she's wiping Alfie, no sense of humour women, they never like that sort of thing.

Sinkov, our coalition is getting nearer and nearer. £200? I was thinking more like pie and peas with a pint.

Last time I backed a horse it was ten to one. It came in at half past three.

I've backed a few of them in my time 59/60, but these days with no betting tax, Bogs, numerous special offers, some very generous each way terms on big races etc, as long as you know what you're doing it's almost impossible to lose money to the bookies.

Take tonight as an example, I got this offer from Bet365

Up to £5 Free In-Play Bet on Juventus v Tottenham
Juventus take on Tottenham in the Champions League on Tuesday 13th February – and we’re giving you a Free In-Play Bet to thank you for placing your Soccer bets with us.

So I put a fiver on Juventus, got a free £5 in-play bet and then Juventus went 2-0 up and this offer kicked in,

With our fantastic 2 Goals Ahead Early Payout Offer, place a pre-match single bet on the Full Time Result market and if the team you back to win goes 2 goals ahead at any stage during the match, we will settle your bet early as a winner.

So I was paid out as a winner although Juventus didn't win the game, and I had a free bet off them as well. This sort of thing is not unusual, yet some people still say betting is a mug's game.

Flowers from me, and a world buffet meal tomorrow.
Went to see Carole King Musical Beautiful tonight as it’s grandchildren tomorrow. Great show featuring songs by Goffin and King (it might as well rain till September being one Natural Woman and Beautiful ones she wrote herself.) and their friends Mann and Weil (You’ve lost that Lovin Feeling being their highlight) great memories of the 60s.
She was the girl Neil Sedaka sang about in Oh Carol. She wrote a response Oh Neil but it didn’t work!
    It’s at Blackpool in June.

If you read my post again 59/60 you'll notice there is the caveat 'if you know what you're doing'. I'm not trying to be a smart-arse but I put my first bet on in 1962, I used to work for a bookie in the 60s, so I should know what I'm doing by now shouldn't I. Others may not.

Another factor is that these big firms are trying to tempt players into their on-line casinos which are guaranteed money spinners for them, the competition is intense and they're using horse racing and football betting as loss leaders to attract new customers onto their sites. So I take advantage of the favourable terms they offer for footy and racing and leave the on-line casinos to the sharks and mugs, I never venture therein.

I also forgot to mention the betting exchanges where you can lay bets off or act as the bookie if you want, a massive aid to anyone betting, which never used to exist. There's never been a better time to be a punter......if you know what you're doing.
