    Bobby Robson said:
"Now we've got Southgate, on signing Jonathan Woodgate."

    David Ginola said:
"I have discovered Newcastle brown ale and my ambition is to speak Geordie as well as Peter Beardsley."
    ........... Obviously.

    "That's it, Wa Doon."

Sitting in the Old Milburn at SJP in 1992, nearing the end of the season , about to be relegated without two wins, when Malcolm Allen scored a late goal for Milwall late on in division 2. Everyone knew this goal could signal the end of us as a Club.

It was said by a bloke sitting behind us, in a broad West End Newcastle accent. Everyone knew what this ultimately could mean.

Cue David Kelly in the next game against Portsmouth, who were one hell of a side, to score a late winner, and then an even later win at Leicester to keep us up.

Not a famous quote "That's it Wa Doon" but it still lives with me.

    "Hairy mot."
This was how Mirandinha greeted people after Paul Gascoigne told him that hairy mot was hello.

Steve Harper talking about Andy Carroll.
"I've known him since he was 6ft 3inches."

Gaza was on pre season tour of New Zealand and he was in the hotel bar with John Anderson

He said Anders “do you fancy a bacon samidge “

Anderson said “yes” so Gaza called the waiter over and asked for bacon samidges

The waiter returned and said “ Sorry Mr Gasgoine the chef said he doesn’t have any bacon”

To which Gazza replied “What you’ve got 6 million sheep and yeve got nee bacon”

True! I suppose it is kind of sad as well.
