Solution? It's a fallen world mate. There are no solutions, only trade-offs. Considering the fact that gun crimes overall have been declining as rates of gun ownership have risen, I'm comfortably with the guns laws we have currently--lets enforce them. To allow ourselves to be disarmed would be the greatest mistake we ever made as a nation. Once a liberty is taken away, it will never be restored. I predict the Europeans will wish they had their guns back long before we surrender ours. Regarding these specific incidents, it would be helpful it the media would stop exploiting these incidents to create a moral panic, in the process giving these losers the wall-to-wall cover they seek. These are copycat crimes driven by publicity, in my estimation.

Ah yes, nothing should ever be done because “it’s a fallen world.” I believe in the depravity of mankind, but that doesn’t absolve us from trying to address situations. We do need to address how gun laws are enforced because it’s hard to evaluate how they work due to different state and municipal laws. For example, Chicago has strict gun laws but it’s not hard to buy a gun outside the city and bring it back.

I don’t care about “liberty” of individuals too much when it pertains to things that can take the lives of others. That’s not a freedom using that argument over IMO. Free speech, assembly, press etc - more-so. I do not think the ability to purchase a device (like an AR 15, AK 47 etc) specifically designed to efficiently kill human beings in large numbers should be treated the same.
