American Pharoah in recent years, top horse by far. Although I like Enable and Rekindling (Melbourne Cup)

Btw I name all "Operations' after horses. To be executed in a matter of days/weeks - Operation Rekindling

Flat horses don't capture my imagination like national hunt horses do.

I appreciate that they are mightily impressive animals but the magic of the jumps always comes out on top for me.

Only jump that ever gets me going is the Grand National. More a flat race fan.

Exactly. There is a certain way the jumping greats capture the hearts. Dessie, red rum, kauto star, sprinter scare etc

Nijinsky, dancing brave and frankel were all brilliant but didn't capture the mass adopted adulation like the jumps horses did.

In my opinion the closest flat racing got to the wider public hearts was through Frankie Dettori.

I don't think any surgeon name their operations after horses and neither will any patient feel confident if their surgeon did that.

No, it's used for jobs or projects in my line of work or for personal stuff. To achieve a target or desire a certain result
