Oh, okay, I understand now.
The obvious thing to do when we go one down is to change to a formation that never ever works for us.
A formation that always results in us shipping heaps of stupid goals.
I haven't seen any of the game and let's face it, I'm unlikely to be desperate to watch any highlights.
I do however feel I get the jist of what happened though.
This is a constant mystery to me.
Plenty teams make three at the back work.
It can be a successful/functional formation.
On paper we have the players to make it work.
In practice I do not remember it being anything other than a complete cluster-fu ck every single time we try it.
Not just ropey or a bit average, but Boris Johnson levels of bad.
Total sh1t storm.
Yet we go back to it.
Often.
Why?
Don’t knock it, It’s a system that has never gotten Wuillie Miller the sack.
I've no idea , not got my finger on the pulse , never did.
Only that we desperately need a change has been apparent for some seasons .
I'm not convinced of the new chairman either, but it would be impossible for anyone to reach Milne's level of incompetence. A job he was never suited for.
He also put McInnes on an unnecessary pedestal. I think McInnes harbours a bit of resentment that he didn't take Sunderland/Rangers jobs which he is not likely to be offered again IMO He missed great opportunity to discover what he could have done, financially too he would have been better off with pay offs than he will receive here , even though he's probably on a ridiculous amount at the moment.
He seems to have become worse with every undeserved contract extension. Maybe because he knows he could do no wrong there seems little effort to improve the squad to a greater level , last minute panic buying squad fillers, crocs, returning donkey Taylor etc.
& development wise, it is clear he(training dept) does not get the best out of what he has.
well maybe I am being a bit harsh, but McInnes has made a lot more off this club than I think he could have hoped for.
I also get the impression he is trying hard to get the dunt now circumstances have altered somewhat.
But I could be wrong
