Yes! Mind you, not for everyone. Ask Jamie Fullarton! God knows how he'll go on at Halifax!

For the first half of the season we were winning matches and creating chances whilst starting in a 4-4-2 formation - why don't we just revert back to that?
Because its too f**king easy Mapperley.

We bought Rayo from Man U for £45,000 and look what they did with that dosh! Just think where we could be now if we had kept it and spent it wisely - Champions League!

It made me wonder what they did do with the money. And the answer is, they spent £60,000 on Jim McCalliog, who signed on deadline day in March 1974, the same time we bought Ray O. He only played 31 games for Man United then was sold for £40,000 to Southampton. So we got the better end of the deal. Especially as Ray O would be in my top 5 ever Notts players. I could never take to Nigel Worthington, who replaced him, it was a downgrade IMO.

    4-4-2

    Colin
    Tootle Brisley Hall Jones
    Alessandra Husin Hewitt Hawkridge
    Grant Stead

Grant just behind Stead in a free role, creating stuff and running in the gaps.

We do have 3 decentish centre backs, a couple of attacking full-backs, 3 central midfielders (at least) and all of us reckon we need 2 up top, so what would your 5 3 2 team be? I will kick it off with:

    GK Fitzsimons

    WB Tootle
    WB Jones

    CB Duffer
    CB Brisley
    CB Hall

    MF Hewitt
    MF Nobler
    MF Husin

    ST Stead
    ST Ameobi/Forte

    Automatic promotion guaranteed!
I do like this formation. Would probably just have Grant and Stead up front. Grant playing 'in the hole' in more of a free role. It's bound to get a few managers heads scratching!

Agree with the 5 & 3, but the 'Best 2' is Pedro for me. Bill Brindley was an admirable lower league right back, but Pedro was sheer class.
