In 1915 seven players were banned for fixing a Man U Liverpool game, which Man U won 2-0 though Billy Meredith was playing he complained no one would pass to him and wasn’t one of the 7. They came from both teams and the points saved MU from relegation.

For some reason, this rings a bell? I recall seeing a pic of all the board members from both United & Liverpool stood in the centre circle? Maybe I'm wrong ......interesting stuff. I'll go check it out. Thanks OC

Billy Meredith was involved in a match for Man City against Aston Villa at the end of the 1904/5 season and was suspended for one year by the FA.
