    MOTD Shelvey

Some fantastic long range passes, but did you see him for both their goals not tracking back then with his hands on his knees 10+ yards from the ball going in the net. Also that miss was terrible (as was Perez's). Some people can blame Rafa all they want but the finger needs to be pointed at the players for missing such guilt edge chances.

Aye we have to be gutted at not winning from 2-0 up, but I bet the vast majority of us would have taken a point at KO.

Aye-said before the game that a point would have been good but to lose two points from 2-0 up is shocking all round.

That's 6 points in recent games that we've genuinely thrown away-Burnley, Swansea and now Bournemouth.

We've had the chances to climb away from the relegation zone but we've wasted them.

Yeah. But that's Shelvey all over. You have to take the rough with the smooth and hope you get a net positive effect on the game and hope when the referee dips in his left titty pocket, he only ever pulls out a yellow for him. He has a long history of not tracking back. He's not that kind of 90 min box to box player.

He should either play further up or further back. He can burst forward but often hasn't got the puff to get back. I think he is amazing when he drifts across the pitch and influences the game from further forward. Even though he's got Hollywood passes in his locker, his deft passes in the oppo half influence the game much more IMHO.

Don't think you'll EVER get a dogged 90 mins defensive masterclass from him.

Do we need to play a further defensive midfielder so we can accommodate him?

Shelvey isn't the problem. The problem is Rafa Benitez being a clown with substitutions.
    No need for scapegoats.

no when 2-0 up take him off and keep the goal scorer on the pitch

    they were chasing the game

rafa took of gayle for an extra defensive player
    shelvey never defends
many many many times people run past him and score
he hasnt the intelligence to follw the person running past him

    surely rafa can see this
