Finally been to see a specialist with regards my toes

After waiting 7 months due to an admin error, went to my appointment at the Foot Biomechanics. Only to be told i've been sent to wrong consultant, i need to see a a orthopedic surgeon, so it's back on another waiting list.

So sorry to hear that soulman buddy. “She who must be obeyed” sends her empathetic best wishes. (Pre retirement she was an orthopaedic ward sister)
She suggests asking your GP for a fast track referral, or if you already have the referral, phone the surgeon’s secretary and relate the facts and similarly ask.

    Take care buddy

HI Prado, thanks for the reply. I went to see my GP yesterday and she apologised, on behalf of the locom Doctor who sent me to the wrong specialist.
Now i'm faced with a moral decision, she asked which hospital I wanted to be referred to I said Sandwell. she said would consider West Midlands Private hospital, who may be quicker and have a good reputation. I've looked at the hospital, nice private rooms ,ensuite, free parking. But the moral decision, do i put myself before the NHS budget and the thought of them making money out of my operation. Would i be a hypocrite if I choose them.

After the NHS system let you down badly there is no way you could be described as hypocritical soulman, after all they must have feelings of guilt to be suggesting it.
    Sorry for butting in.

Difficult decision. One time I would be aghast at the very idea of going private. I have been very fortunate but I suppose I am just lucky. My son had private care as part of his job package and had quick treatment when it was required. I don’t think you would be a hypocrite. There are personal circumstances when ideals and morals have to take a back seat I am afraid.

    Hello Lloyd.

I can see your dilemma and fully appreciate your concerns. However, going private will not make you a hypocrite. Going private will make you the recipient of a consultation you should have had months ago, allowing the NHS to rectify its acknowledged mistakes in the process. They are responsible for the current state of your affairs so allow them to make good their mistake.

All of the very best chap, Dan’.
