Dispose of the bulk of his shares means the following to me:

He keeps enough so that Him, Martin and the ever loyal ArabTrust retain control of the club.

The new person/group would not have the reins of power.

Dont know much about MM, did he hang around knowing what ST was up to and was waiting for a chance to move up and sort things out. (hope this is the case) ST held all the cards as chairman and there was not enough shareholder % to stop any business that he was up to. Maybe MM will have the backing of the remaining board members and steer the club in the right direction, only time and future Board decisions will make this more clear. This may be the first step for the club to get back to a steady financial position and put a decent team out on the pitch that can compete to get us out this mess.

    ST + MM = Mates.

They are mates and business partners, there’s likely not a lot of change here just ST no longer leading.

Perhaps ST looking after the United FC Group part of their master plan......

Maybe I was being too optimistic there.

Cause for concern if that’s the case.

Is this linked to the forthcoming season ticket renewal forms being put into the post?

They’ll be going straight into the bin in my house.

Big actions needed from the club to prove this ‘changing of the guard’ is substantial rather than ceremonial.

ST seems to think he’s really clever.....

This time around I think the fans who were considering withholding season ticket monies should do so until ST has no authority wielding powers at Tannadice. This would include him retaining a nominal shareholding which would allow for him and MM to beat back anyone else’s opinions. ST is toxic at Tannadice in any shape or guise, and for everyone’s sake, especially the club itself, he should be gone completely

ST, because of his shareholding, always had a veto over any decisions so I think we need to give MM a chance to prove he has what it takes to move the club forward. One of the big bug-bears over the ST years was he had no experience and didn't have any real business experience but the same accusation can't be levelled at MM. Interesting times but the proof will be in the pudding.

Has ST been vetoing decisions though ?

If you spent 6/7 years with a Chairman making and forcing through all the wrong decisions, failing with every judgement and business move, player sales and managerial appointments using veto and shareholding power ...........why would you be in business with the man .....unless as a business man you can see the end gain in being associated with ST and exploiting accordingly.

    Interesting times ahead

I have no idea but the shareholding means ST can make unilateral decisions as things stand.

I had a season ticket for a good number of years. However when countless managers deploy two defensive midfielders, a lone striker and a makeshift right-back. Phuck it, do it these so called managers know to win games you have to score goals and stop the opposition from scoring. Then they expect you to buy a season ticket and watch this continual shoite.

I'd rather we went with a playmaker in midfield, a two pronged strike force, wingers that can reach the bye-line and put in a good cross and a right-back that is an actually right-back not a phucking makeshift former "midfielder". If we were getting gubbed by this method at least we were putting in the effort rather than this sh!tty pish 4231.
