Thread: O/T Its surprising how people vote

I’m a normal construction worker in the sense that I need to drag my arse out of bed day in day out to earn a crust.
The Mrs works for the nhs and likewise, goes to work day in, day out to earn her crust.
I generally get better wages under the Tory tossers, the wife gets better wages under labour dummies.
Financially there is very little difference whoever is in charge.
Policy wise they’re all as inept as each other.

I suppose it boils down to what we consider to be better off which isn't necessarily always reflected in our earnings .

Getting a doctor's appointment this week instead of the middle of next month perhaps , my partner's having to wait 10 weeks to see a specialist currently , she's in pretty poor shape , suffered terribly since boxing day .

Do we consider working people having to use foodbanks to be a good thing ? , doesn't strike me as a particularly good endorsement for governments or society given it's 2018 and not 1845 .

Is it right that a former chancellor wouldn't build more social housing because " it only creates Labour voter's " despite a monumental lack of affordable homes .

Just a few examples of life possibly outside of our own circumstances but none the less can affect us or our kids now or in the future .

I suppose if expecting young people to be able to obtain a home , a job not on a ZHC basis , affordable further education and a decent free at the point of use health service to be a fairytale then fair enough .

Each government over the last 40 years has systematically created this situation. They're all responsible for the status quo. Putting it back to summat like is a different proposition. Interesting how Gwynn deems it a fairy tale suggesting that Corbyns ideas aren't feasible, I agree with him. In principle Corbyn talks a good game and he may be the exception when it comes to MP's actually backing up their campaigns to become PM if elected. It appears he's morally sincere, principled and out to make a genuine difference. Trouble is mate that i lost any faith or belief when I realised that corruption starts in Westminster

I get that pass and perfectly understand your stance mate .

It's interesting though that despite your disinterest in politics that you seem to know what he's about .

That's good news to me on many levels and a far bigger endorsement than you probably realise pass .

    Good stuff mate .

On the contrary mate, I only know what I saw in the election build up last June. Despite my reluctance to give politics any serious time or consideration i admit that curiosity got the better of me in the election build up. However, i didnt come out of it with any real perspective and I remain stifled in my outlook, probably much to the detriment of me holding down any sort of opinion that can be taken seriously in a political debate with people far more in the know than I appear to be. I admit freely that I'm well out of my depth.

Your not out your depth pass at all , you just refute the bull shine which is fair enough and perfectly understandable .

Pass is spot on, the problem is there is no alternative.
Personally I dread the idea of Corbin in power but having said that it’s not working under Tories either. So your damned if you do and damned if you don’t.
