    Charlie Taylor

Spare a thought for Charlie Taylor.

His spell in the first team resulted in no wins, yet he played excellently and would walk into many Prem teams.

But I am a massive Ward fan and in my opinion he just has the edge over Charlie.

Since Ward returned we won today and, but for a brilliant piece of set up play by the ref in the final minute, we would have won last week.

Taylor is still young and learning his trasde in the big league, but his future is bright - and hopefully with us.

Tarka had to wait a year to get a chance ,so he's young enough.

Great position to be in, having two proper left backs who can both do the business.

I have said it before, but when Taylor learns the art of playing the early ball he will be the real deal!

Wards contract runs to 2018 and I suspect that may be Charlie’s time.

Word in my earpiece is that Ward will be signing an extension and personally, I would be delighted with that!

I think we maybe missed a trick with Taylor as his link up play with Wood at dirty weeds was outstanding , I’d like to have seen him play with Wood up top ,
That’s not dissing Ward at all I think at this moment he’s the better defender but Taylor has power and pace and that’s what the premier league is, so hopefully he’ll get his full turn with us at some stage.

Taylor will get more opportunities in the first team. He may have to wait a while to become first choice at left back. As others have pointed out Tarka and Pope had to be patient but it does not appear to have stifled their development.
