    Team Sky dopes?

    MPs say what many think

"Drugs were being used by Team Sky, within World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) rules, to enhance the performance of riders and not just to treat medical need," the DCMS committee report added.

They crossed the ethical line using medicines allowed for medical treatment to enhance performance.

Team Sky said it "strongly refutes" the report's "serious claim that medication has been used by the team to enhance performance".

Wiggins said in a statement: "I find it so sad that accusations can be made, where people can be accused of things they have never done, which are then regarded as facts.

"I strongly refute the claim that any drug was used without medical need."

Agree Matelot. It is bizarre that they are being criticised for acting within the rules.

If the rules are bad, change them.

The French in particular but lots of others hate the emergence of the UK's prowess in cycling.

If the medicines used are not on a banned list and fall with the regulated auspices of WADA, what's the problem?

One or two of our MP's need to get on their bikes and head off right out of Westminster...

So if you suffer from asthma (or any other medical condition for that matter) and are an active sportsperson, you can't get treatment according to our daft MP's...

    .

he can't be a cheat for having the TUE (Therapeutic Use Exemption).....so is a legal doper - but was he an illegal doper - in that was the treatment the minimum required or - was it (corticosteroid) excessive....being as that would enhance his performance by aiding his physical recovery.
also not helped by His/Sky's "No Needles"mantra....and his autobiographical statement - with no mention of any illness prior to the 2012 TDF.

anyway - whats new - the whole wheels doped...it's all about - who's the best at hiding the more of it.

Sometimes you just have to admire the sheer effrontery of our expense-cheating, corrupt MPs, pontificating on cheating and corruption in another sphere, of which they know sweet feck all, but pretend otherwise. I would hope Keith Vaz was involved in some way, just to give the MPs the required gravitas and credibility.

There are 11 members of this committee. Damian Collins (Chair); Julie Elliott ; Paul Farrelly ; Simon Hart ; Julian Knight ; Ian C. Lucas ; Christian Matheson ; Brendan O'Hara ; Rebecca Pow ; Jo Stevens MP; Giles Watling

    5 Tories, 5 Labour and 1 SNP.

I haven't heard of any of them.

How can they possibly criticise a sportsman for acting within the rules of their sport? I suppose they have to justify their existence...

it's nothing new - go all the way back to 1967.....with Tom Simpson collapsing on Mont Ventoux - his post mortem found him to be stuffed full of amphetamines - they were even tucked in his jersey....or Graeme Obree who joined french team Groupment in 1995 - and was Immediately offered boosting EPO like steroids - but refused them - so they cancelled his contract - after all of 11 hrs.....because if your not going to fall in with the rest - your a danger to the rest - as anyone found who crossed Armstrong and his U.S Postal cronies....a superpower like them would use any means so silence the whistleblowers - and team Sky are no different...the biggest most wealthy powerhouse in town - but when you've got something like 90% of TDF riders in on the dope - who's going to speak up....and going back to the Ventoux - i'm reliably informed that when Froome attacked on the ascent with I think 8k to climb - when he reached the top his heart rate had gone up by an astounding......2 beats per minute ?
Doesn't seem like Sky team will survive this latest controversy - but if they can get out with only the arguable Wiggins affair to taint them - then am sure they'll jump at it - see Cofidis doper David Millar - who said he used the same drug as Wiggins and it was like - Rocket Fuel.
