I wonder what the real story is behind this Skripol poisoning. There seems little doubt the Russians are responsible, but why. He was in their prison system for six years, but they didn't see him off then when they could easily have done so had they wanted to. So why him, why now, and why in the UK ? What are they trying to tell the numpties running this country ?

If you watched the programme you would see Putin evolve from little boy lost in charge of a state in decline tending to move to democracy to a powerful and increasingly eccentric dictator willing to ignore rules and norms and kill to make Russia a world power again.
This is time for him to show the world Russia is now a force to be recognised, (Syria) one that cares nought about human rights (Syria) and is grabbing power where it can. (Crimea, Ukraine and Syria). Any of Putins perceived enemies in Russia are killed and the list of journalists killed there is well into in three figures.
Putin recently got Parliament to agree they could kill on foreign soil. It’s now pay back time abroad and the US thinks at least 12 Russian linked murders have occurred here.
Skripal was still involved in training MI6 staff and helped brief about Trumps Russian connections so may have been seen to be an active enemy. It’s also a warning that no Russian is safe in the UK or anywhere in the world for that matter and the UN is ineffective.

little doubt its the Russians ? - but why....because without hard evidence - the just fired U.S secretary of state says so - and not because this double agent Skripal had made numerous enemies in many countries - selling their identities for cash....and (I read) that one of the main manufacturing sites for nasties was Uzbekistan - a place that since its independence - has been working closely with the U.S....but I'd imagine it could be cooked up anywhere - there's even a place a few miles from Salisbury that could do it.

but personally -- I'm not inclined to believe any of them....and their rapscallion curveball drawl - there were no WMD's !

My theory, for what it's worth which is probably not very much, is that the numpties running this country have for some years now, for reasons way beyond me, been deliberately poking and provoking the Russian Bear. The Bear has decided to show that it can bite back.

I think your into the fact - Sinkov....as a recent study in the US Army’s University Press revealed that Russian belligerence cannot be understood without accounting for the context of ongoing US interference in what Russia perceives to be its legitimate ‘sphere of influence.’ and also - being that US isn't exactly some innocent victim of Russian interference, it says the US has at various times run covert “information, economic and diplomatic” campaigns to either “dethrone Putin”, or undermine his rule.

    Taking on Putin
    BBC1 7.30 tonight.

    Taking On Putin
    Panorama

Vladimir Putin is about to face the voters, and most think his victory is a foregone conclusion. If the Russian president does win six more years in power, he will become the country's longest-serving ruler

Theresa taking action to expel 23 of 58 embassy staff. She also revoked an invitation to Russia's foreign minister, and said the Royal Family would not attend the Fifa World Cup later this year.
No doubt there will now be some Russian tit for our tat.

Where is Jeremy on this, he couldn’t even support Theresa over the Russian links, choosing instead to talk of Tory funding when he should have been showing solidarity with her on the deplorable actions in Salisbury. Even his own MPs were ashamed of him.
He’s now letting McDonnell be the mouthpiece and has gone to ground.

    Did you know....?

    1. Russian oligarchs and their associates have registered donations of more than £820,000 to the Tories since the summer of 2016.

    2. The Tories have received more than £3m from Russian billionaires and lobbyists for Moscow since their return to government in 2010.

    3. Britain grants three-year “investor” visas to foreigners who invest £1m or more in government bonds. Two years later they can buy residency for £10m as long as they have held on to the bonds. Russians were granted 433 of these visas between the third quarters of 2008 and 2013, more than any other nationality.

You sound like Corbyn footy! These are a diversion from the fact that our country has been targeted for use of banned substances putting the public at risk.

Of course Russian oligarchs here wont support Marxist causes. Do you think they should?
And you must think that Russia doesn’t support Labour and it’s Union Marxist backers.

Now weren’t Labour in power in 2008 when this bond policy was introduced by Brown? Was it really to allow Russians to infiltrate, influence and allow some to undermine our country I wonder. Do you want them expelled?

Putin must love Abramovich for controlling the club nearest Parliament and who many MPs support and making them lose in Barca! Lolz
