Thread: Russia--did you know?

  1. #61
One of our alleged intellectual political elite said something along the lines of, "Shut up and sod off".

I'll bet that had Putin shaking in his boots?

“Frankly, Russia should go away and should shut up."

I can only imagine that the Russian Generals and Admirals, when they had had this translated, took off those gigantic hats they wear, mopped their brows, downed another shot of vodka, and fell on the floor laughing.

    Ah, good old British diplomacy.

But what do you expect when Boris is our foreign secretary?

Theresa May is not my idea of a good PM, but surely even she could see that there are around 60 million people in Britain more qualified for this role than Boris?

Russia, Brexit negotiations...we are hardly covering ourselves in glory.

UK NOT PLEASED WITH ISRAELI RESPONSE TO POISON ATTACK ON EX-RUSSIAN SPY.

“We expect strong statements of support from all our close partners, Israel included,” the British embassy said in a statement. On Thursday the Foreign Ministry issued a statement that did not explicitly mention Russia’s involvement in the attack, saying that it “views with gravity” the event that took place in Great Britain and “condemns it vigorously. We hope that the international community will cooperate in order to avoid such further events,” the statement read. Other British allies, such as the US, France and Germany, issued stronger statements that made specific mention of Russian involvement.

British Ambassador David Quarry reportedly turned to officials in the Prime Minister’s Office last week with a request for a condemnation. When if did come, a couple of days later, it made no specific mention of Moscow. While Britain reportedly made its displeasure clear to Jerusalem, Moscow went in the other direction, praising Israel on Friday for not being drawn into what it said was a hysterical anti-Russian campaign following the poisoning.

Really do you think Israel can condem strongly, with the russian Sokhoi (Su-57s) air bases in Syria ? Israel will destroy all attemps by Iran to build any missile sites, nuclear reactor, etc in Syria. With Russia flying at will over Syria, that could mean clashes between the two forces?? Don't expect!

By the way on the decision to declare Jerusalem the capital of Israel, did the U K, back Israel with the UN vote? Then expect 'tit for tat'?

Balan, I think you'll find our spineless, political elite wish Israel would go away and shut up as well. But like Russia, Israel isn't going away either is it.

Good to see Trump Barnier and Merkel all congratulating him on his re-election. Crawlers.

At least the Edinurgh Chamber of Commerce has ejected the Russian news agency Sputnik from membership to stop them gaining access to business leaders.

    It’s the capital of Sotland!

Now more seriously, is anyone fancying going to the World Cup. I read that getting visas will be more difficult as a result of the tit for tat. There are lots of pickpockets in St Petersburg, so if you lose your passport you will have to go to Moscow - difficult if you have lost your wallet. Then there will be a lot of bear bating by the Russian fans.
Time to stay at home I think!
