4-0
Lol Morgan is correct.
We lost 2-1 at Newark in the FA Cup on 29th November 1930
During my research one particular set of results stood out to me. They were against South Shields.
Of 4 games played (against the original team) the results were:
3rd November 1928 home Drew 1-1
16th March 1929 away LOST 10-1
28th September 1929 home LOST 1-0
1st February 1930 away LOST 5-0
This was around the time of the stock exchange crash. It seems some of our players had their minds on other things. Lol
We did gain a little revenge against the newly formed team in 1972 when we beat the newly formed South Shields in an FA Cup game at Millmoor on 18th November 1972.
4-0
South Shields- probably a gale blowing in from the North Sea in Feb/March and we weren't used to the conditions, hence the scorelines.

Burton All Saints were formed in 1921/22 and joined the Birmingham & District League. They were renamed Burton Town in 1924 and won the B & D League in 1927/28 and remained in that league until the start of World War II.
They competed in the FA Cup frequently in pre war years. In 1937/38 after beating Bolsover Colliery in the 4th Qualifying Round 10-1 they were drawn at home to RUFC and held us to a 1-1 draw. We won the replay 3-0 just 2 days afterwards. Unfortunately we lost in the second round 3-1 at home to Aldershot.
At the time we competed in Division 3 North and finished that season in 6th place.
As for Burton Town, they never re-formed after the war and Burton Albion was formed in 1950 and joined the same league as their predecessors until 1958/59 when they joined the Southern League. 50 years later they reached the football league.
The one game against Wealdstone would have been the 1st round of the FA Cup down at their place.
Remember it well, four of us went by car.
2-0 up at half-time & then they came back into it.
We ended up winning 3-2, not an easy game at all.
If we count the Sheffield & Hallamshire County Cup would Doncaster be the most played team
Never seen the word 'expunged' used so often on a message board.
Interesting though. Why isn't the word 'deleted' used as it is in most things.
Did we ever play Colne Dynamos big things were expected from them but they faded away saw a game there once
Kettering Town another club with big ambitions think they were managed by Derek Dougan and later by Gascoigne think Rushton Diamonds was an amalgamation of two club, this thread has stirred the memory.
