Isn't it time for our monthly lack of progress report?

IMO more chance of RUFC taking part in Champions league final than that EYESORE been re-developed.

When an announcement does come it will almost certainly say something like:
Following another productive and positive meeting with English Heritage, Chairman Mr Stewart has gone on record as saying "I have had another productive and positive meeting with English Heritage. If further progress is made I expect to have another productive and positive meeting towards the end of the year".

I don't think they would answer.

It's easier to object without putting forward any other plan

They would have to rebuild it to its original state, using original materials and original methods of work. Let's say that the lintels were smashed during the demolition they can demand that they are repaced with new ones made from the same materials and even demand that the stone comes from the same quarry that the originals came from.

    Very expensive.

Another factor is that it is a mongrel of a building built at different times. The supposed historical bit is only a minor part of it. I would expect asbestos removal to be long and costly.

Also remember that the initial reason for preservation was that it was the birth place of the screw water tap. The actual truth being that the patent for said tap was lodged a decade before building started at the NYS site. Guest and Chrimes then were based in the town centre, a site long gone.

We'll probably be ready for a new stadium by the time any progress is made on the G+C site.
Tbh I don't mind it, it gives the place some character..
