Curtis Davies Best Player In The Championship...but

    https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/spo...onship-1338178

Not surprised, he has been pretty consistent (ie consistently good)

to quote from the article 'His passing has also been good, with a success rate of 79.3%. 15 yard cross-field passes to Richard Keogh have been an amazing 100%'

    BUT

I didn't realise he is 33 (today). Our two arguably best players are getting on a bit - where's the replacement strategy? Maybe GR has one based on needing to move most players on anyway if we achieve promotion

Curtis Davies has been a damned good signing, one of the best in recent seasons imo, but the ‘best player in the Championship’? That’s just nonsense and goes to prove the old adage about ‘lies, damned lies and statistics’. He’s probably not even the ‘best’ player at Derby...arguably not even our best centre back but a fine signing and, especially if we’re still in the Championship, I hope we get another season or two out of him.

There's probably 25 players from Wolves, Cardiff, Fulham and Villa that would fit the bill easily.

Good centre backs can play to 36/37 if they don't rely on pace. Top signing.

And Lawrence 3rd best Derby player behind Davies and Keogh.
