I know Shelvey hasn't been in great form all season but the rest of the team looks blah. Lascelles is a strange one. I have no doubt we'll be fighting off the top 4 in the next few years if he continues his form; then, whatever manager brings him in to the England squad will suddenly be a football genius or something outrageous.

If feel really bad for Lascelles what does he need to do to get in the squad??
    But....,
    On the other hand
The selfish part of me thinks
At least he won’t get injured and is available for the rest of the campaign

I don't think playing for England enhances a players club effort and talent but it might enhance the price tag.

I'm over the moon Newcastle first and Engerland a very distant second. We need them fit for us could guarantee one or both would get injured.

I'm happy because it means they won't get injured on international duty.

At the same time, Lascelles in particular deserves a call up and we don't want him or others to have the mentality they won't get into the England (national team) if they play here and then pushing for a move.
