I agree its infuriating and i get where your coming from but as i said although we were pish today we still won and that should be acknowledged instead of bringing up past results and other teams results against the cheeks

Made it difficult for ourselves, in a game that we played okay after taking the lead. Had Christie buried that simple chance early in the 2nd half, wed have been on easy street, and although Dundee offered nothing other than that early chance from AJ Smith (who looked offside to me but we'll see it later) you always run the risk of a defensive mistake and lose the 3 points.

Shinnie was immense in the 2nd half, esp. when on a booking. Chiddi, did what he was asked but looks a hit or a miss.

Thought AoC and McKenna were rock solid

As has been mentioned, wee bit better from May, McGinn and Christie but all 3 can add another 30% to today's display.

One of those days, and when on THAT pitch, where you just walk up Merkland Rd afterwards with the spring sunshine slanting in your eyes, with the 3 points in your hipper, and look forward to a few pints, and hopefully better performances ahead.

This season is a slog, rebuild in the summer, let's get what we can this season and have a go at making things better in the summer.
May and McGinn, get fresh and get a pre season, Mikey D get healthy and get a pre season in.

We can finish second and win the cup.......we probably won't but we've got a chance.

    Is that happy clapper talk?

Not really, we hear time and again how teams like Kilmarnock are able to get points off the cheeks as a marker for what we should aim for.
The same team that’s below us in the league and went out of the cups earlier than us.

    It’s a great weekend.
SevCo and Hibs dropped points, we gained all 3.
2nd place is back within our own hands.

A wee break for the International games and then a win against St Johnstone would be great.

My random thoughts having seen the game...

    - Wasn't a pretty game, but the pitch and weather played a large part in that.
    - Most important thing is we got the win - we did what we had to do and got the result - we should be happy with that.
    - Woodman made a good save when their boy was clean through, but there was another cross that hit the bar that he looked well suspect for - he didn't have a clue where it was going! Not the first time that's happened.
    - McKenna had another solid game - McLeish must be considering starting him in one of the Scotland games...
    - Shinnie and McLean had good games in midfield. Christie marginally better than he has been but not at his best.
    - Nwakali seems to blow hot and cold, but generally did pretty well today
    - McGinn did a good job in the second half when we got the ball to him and he went wide and got crosses in or won corners.
    - If we're getting balls into the box from McGinn and others I'd still rather we had Rooney in the middle than May. May does more running into the channels, but Rooney always looks 10 times more likely to score.
    - Other results have gone our way this weekend - hopefully Rangers defeat knocks a bit of stuffing out of them and brings to an end a fairly decent run of form.
    - Dundee are pretty guff

Turgid stuff. Wind and pitch did not help. We did play a lot better in the second half and Rooney must have been frustrated on the bench watching us miss chance after chance.

Woodman. Great save at 0-0. Kicking horrendous for a professional footballer.
Logan. Better than of late. Provided an attacking threat and kept his man subdued.
    AOC. Good game. Looked solid.
McKenna. Immense. Won everything and then the second ball as well. What a player we have there.
Considine. Sort of ok. Solid enough in defence, offered little going forward.
Nwakali. I am not convinced he is actually a footballer. Decision making very poor.
Shinnie. Early booking stifled him to start with. His goal gave him confidence and he had a good game after.
Christie. Though he was poor today. Always trying, but little coming off.
McLean. Worked his socks off. By a mile, the best player on the pitch. He was one of the few people to play the ball on the ground and show composure.
McGinn. Poor first half. Seen a lot of the ball second half, but pretty wasteful with it (including numerous awful corners).
May. Shocking. A yard off the pace, poor decision making and slow. Keep on thinking it must come good for him, but beginning to get worried about him.

Overall, a good three points considering sevco and Hibs dropped points.

    Bloody freezing again.

    Well needed 3 points.

The negativity is about the worrying thought that we arent playing good enough to beat other stronger teams and finish 2nd or 3rd.

Some seem to prefer if we were 5th in the league, papped out of the cups, no chance of Europe just as long as we get some points off the cheeks

Pretty accurate summing up of the players yesterday. Nwakali has some decent touches but not good enough in my opinion for any SPFL club especially ours. How many times did he end up on the floor because of his own ungainliness.
Christie to me used to blow hot and cold but the flashes of genius are long gone. And for goodness sake could someone please take out the weights from May's boots ..... the tortoise could give him a race at the minute.
