We had a slim chance at the title, they had a imagined rivalry. Billy no mates club!

Boro called the game off during the day on the Friday (using Jeff Winter the Premier League referee and Boro fan who wasnt due to be referee) saying the outside of the ground was dangerous to walk on. Then on the Saturday morning all the snow was gone! No salt or access to the weather forecast in Teesside back then. Boro had a number of players out as well if my memory serves me correctly? The feckers won the re-arranged game 1-0 as well.

I'm sure these decisions are taken once all relevant parties have had their input with only the 'rubber-stamping' of the decision down to the Police. You could easily imagine Derby massively overstating their safety concerns and then saying 'but of course, it's your decision...God forbid anyone has an accident outside the ground and sues when it's your decision...'
Given the amount of games in a Fizzy season it’s got to be annoying when you have to squeeze an extra one in somewhere at the tail end of the season.
The league should have to look at it, if they don’t find real grounds for postponement they should award Cardiff a 1-0 win... that precedent would make teams think twice about trying to ‘cheat’ under the auspices of ‘safety’
I think decisions should be made solely on the major weather forecasters.
If they say snow will be coming for a certain few days in which matches are being played in those towns and cities, then simply make it standard for a match postponement based on it and that way fans know in hand, regardless of whether the forecast is correct.
It would save a lot of argument as to who decided what and who's to blame.
