Boro called the game off during the day on the Friday (using Jeff Winter the Premier League referee and Boro fan who wasnt due to be referee) saying the outside of the ground was dangerous to walk on. Then on the Saturday morning all the snow was gone! No salt or access to the weather forecast in Teesside back then. Boro had a number of players out as well if my memory serves me correctly? The feckers won the re-arranged game 1-0 as well.
