    Robinson leaves Charlton

Karl Robinson has parted company with League One club Charlton Athletic after 16 months as manager.

Robinson, who took charge at The Valley in November 2016, has left the Addicks ninth in the table, five points off the play-off places.

Assistant manager Lee Bowyer and player-coach Johnnie Jackson have been placed in caretaker charge.

"The club and Karl came to an agreement that is best for everyone involved," Charlton director Richard Murray said.

    How are the mighty fallen!
Robinson used to be touted as one of the brightest young managers around and was regularly linked to some of the more attractive vacancies that came up.
It never happened for him though and I wonder where his career will go now?

Robinson offered to leave the club last week, but he was asked to carry on.
With all the uncertainty at the club with who's taking over, it put Robinson in no mans land with the job, plus look how the fans are suffering with the club not sorted things out.
Charlton looked to have a chance of getting a play off spot, but has the boardroom uncertainty got to the players, with the lack of getting on a winning sequence to get in the top six.
Looks like Robinson will takes the reins at Oxford.

Jaap Stam, The owners have been patient with him. One of the biggest budgets in the league I wonder who's going to be hunted to take over. Another overseas manager?

They're not in League 1 yet!

Or are we talking about Robinson and Charlton?

You could say that both still have a chance of playing in the Championship next season.
