I don't mean to complain about the pitch, but the pitch was awful. Did Southend cover the pitch until 5 to 3 so that our management could not take a look at it before deciding on team selection or tactics? If so then we should put in a complaint to the Football League because that is as bad as Aussie ball tampering. If, however, Warne and his team were able to walk on the pitch, kick a few balls around to assess pace and bounce, then.........

Patty, I posted on another thread that their manager was banging on about how they use the picth on Talksport hours before the kick-off. Warne knew all about it but didn't know how to counter it. Inexperience.

The first goal we had both Emmanuel and Ajayi trying to head a ball that was thrown down the line. On top of that we had Vaulks at the wrong side of his man. Mattock stuck between a rock and a hard place. Should he have come across and helped Vaulks or try and stay on the eventual scorer.

Their fans spotted that Ajayi wasn't comfortable and mocked him throughout the game.

The whole ground is awful.
Think of Millmoor and it's twice as bad including the famous loo's
The pitch isn't big enough because it slopes away just past the white line. Seems dangerous to me
Worst view from any ground i can think of too.

Apparently they are trying to build a 21,000 seat stadium outside the town but it still hasn't happened.

Hate it when a Manager blames a pitch. Look at your team line up and tactics Mr Warne, stop blaming the pitch.

Oh and pray tell, who the heck is going to tell Ajayi it goes in row Z when in doubt? This lad is becoming a liability.
