It's always been my position on this subject.

Do you propose I change it because an Englishman scores one goal in a friendly?
What if you found out McKenna was actually born in Guernsey and educated in Scotland and considered himself Scottish due to his mum being born in Keith?

What you mean is, what if somebody not born in Scotland wanted to play for Scotland.

    The answer is obvious.

What if McKenna became the best centre half in the world but was winning f'uck all being Scottish so decided to play for Germany?

There have to be rules about nationality otherwise it's a farce.

As I said, my preference is for it to be the country you were born in.

I'm aware this isn't the majority view, I'm prepared to accept that the " fathers nationality " may be used, but grudgingly.

Depends if McKenna had played for the men's team.

I dont like hearing Scottish players have played for England under-whatevers.

That rule should be in concrete that they cant play for anyone else.

Will you be calling yourself Hungarian anytime soon?

Im sure you have that right by now.

    No, because I'm Scottish.

I don't have to have Hungarian citizenship because I'm European.
