Very reminiscent to posts from the beginning of last season. There is no doubting United probably have some of the best players in the league. That will not get you out of that division though. What you need is a good team not a bunch of individual's and until you can have a settled team for a couple of seasons you will keep going through this cycle. You will start each season with a new squad potentially new manager struggle sack him and start again all the time hemorrhaging money and slipping towards the inevitable.

Absolutely spot on. The amount of money our club has spunked on chasing the quick fix must be eye watering.

Get rid of the last chance saloon mercenaries that are at the arse end of their careers.

Instruct the manager to build a strong, hungry, young team and get rid of those with poor attitude.

Bring back the real Dundee United.

I agree we need to build. Of main candidates I’d say David Hopkin one that probably fits that bill. Built a strong team ethic at a club with hardly any fans.

The point about sticking with a manager is that you need to appoint the right one.

If we stick with Csaba we will be playing third tier Scottish football in couple of years. That is how bad we have become

Hughes' stock after Raith Rovers was very low cairdy, I don't think his appointment at Tannadice would have gone down very well.
Having seen what's happened tho, we should have bitten his hand off.

I genuinely have absolutely no idea where the idea that Yogi Hughes is a good manager comes from. He's tactically clueless and he talks like a four year old.

whats frustrating about the last few years is we have spent loads of money on average or past it players when we should have spent the money more on a Quality manager. youve seen other teams who have appointed quality managers and been able to get the best of average or poor players. Levein done it when he came into tannadice. had a decent squad but nothing compared to the one he left but yet he had us performing at standards far higher than the players thought they were capable of!

the recent example is obviously steve clarke at killie. hes only made a few signings but yet hes took them from a hopeless looking team to a top 6 team in about 5months. thats what a quality manager can do.

i know finances are always tight but we have had a couple of times to get an experienced quality manager in to get us out of this trouble but have went for cheaper options (not even the best out of work managers available at the time)
