Saw that on Soccer AM this morning, fingers crossed for the poor guy, brilliant player in his day

Very shocked by this news, he's a regular pundit on talksport and always a good listen. One of the big upcoming stars when I first got into football, saw him play at Meadow Lane for Manchester United.

Ray Wilkins has had his well-publicised problems in recent times, but whenever I've heard him as a pundit or just as himself he always comes across as an absolute gentleman. And he was a quality footballer. Best wishes to him.

I remember seeing him play for Chelsea at Notts. He did a few times back in the 70s and they tend to merge into one game in your memory but he was superb and led a comeback almost single handedly ... probably our 2-1 home win in Feb 77 when he scored. Chelsea weren't much better than Notts back then and he was the captain at 18 years old, and by far their best player.

Really sad news. One of my favourite players and came over as a nice bloke aswell.
